5 Hair Trends for Winter

With the party season about to kick off, there’s never been a better time to try a new hair trend. This winter there’s a whole host of beautiful hair trends that are perfect for any occasion. To provide you with some inspiration for your next look, here are 5 hot hair trends for this winter.

The new bob
If you’ve been thinking about cutting your hair shorter then now is the perfect time to do so. Emma Stone and Sienna Miller have both been sporting a tousled bob in recent weeks which is the perfect look for the party season. If you already have shorter hair, you can create a textured, tousled bob with a curling wand and a scrunching gel or sea spray to create a sexy yet sophisticated look.
The sleek ponytail
If you have long hair then the sleek ponytail is the perfect trend for you to try. This style works best on hair that’s not freshly washed in order to create a style that’s as sleek as possible. A good hairbrush is key to create a smooth and flawless finish. Once your hair is brushed and tied with a hair elastic, use a shine spray to create a glossy finish. You can either opt for a low or high ponytail, though lower ponytails tend to be more wearable.
The ballerina bun
Hair buns have always been fairly popular as it’s an easy and quick way to style your hair. The newest bun on the block is the ballerina bun, a slightly messy and textured take on the original hair bun. It’s best to use hair pins to make sure the bun is secure and not to overly brush the hair as this style suits the slightly ungroomed look for an ideal low key daytime style.
Plaits can update and add a little something to any hairstyle. On longer hair, plaits can be worn in a milkmaid style (around the top of the head) for either a pretty dressed down or evening look. On shorter hair, plaits look great in a French braid at the side or front of the face to create a beautiful styled look for any occasion.
The fringe
Fringes are back but this time they’re going side swept. A side swept fringe is the perfect way to update your look without having to commit to a full on fringe. It tends to be easier to style than a blunt fringe and can be easily worn on any hair length. The key to keeping your fringe to the side or your face is to invest in a good styling product, such as hairspray that will keep your hair in place without looking crispy.
